BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE CARVED HARDWOOD BOWL SOUTH PACIFIC MARQUESAS ISLANDS

Description

This is a carved wood bowl from the South Pacific, probably the Marquesas. It came from the estate of a Seattle area couple that had sailed around the world. The person running the sale had no information on the bowl. The sides of the bowl have creatures that look like geckos? and the designs appear to be similar to ones from the Marquesas. The bowl is 16" end to end and about 4" tall. The wood is heavy and hard and a beautiful color. If any of you experts want to comment, feel free. See pics. Email questions.
